Tara Berman, CPA is the managing partner of TaraPaige Group. She is a leading industry expert on business planning, conceptual development, accounting and financial management, operations and overall strategic guidance for early stage brands and growing enterprises.

Tara earned her Certified Public Accounting license in 1997 while at Anchin, Block and Anchin LLP, a public accounting firm and advanced to investment banking with JP Morgan in trading and sales for the capital markets division. In 2002, after her completion of culinary school at the Institute of Culinary Education, she started her tenure in the kitchen of the French Laundry with The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group. Tara continued to work with TKRG in management at Bouchon Bistro, Per Se and Bouchon Bakery.

Tara is a member of the Women’s Food Service Forum, New York Women’s Culinary Alliance, Founding Member of The New York City Hospitality Group, Faculty Member of the Management Program at The Institute of Culinary Education and guest lecturer at New York University Food Studies Program. In 2013, Tara earned her Executive MBA at NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Michael Ridd, an advisor with TaraPaige Group, brings deep strategic insight and planning to hospitality operations. His experience ranges from fine dining to fast casual, in-line to non-traditional operations. Most recently, he helped the Cafe Spice brand launch a fast casual Indian restaurant in partnership with Whole Foods Market, worked in management at Shake Shack, and in the dining room at Eleven Madison Park. These experiences, coupled with his education, give him the tool set required to analyze, optimize, and guide any concept engaged with TaraPaige Group on concept, culture, and the nuts and bolts of operating a foodservice business.

Michael completed his Associate’s Degree at the Culinary Institute of America in culinary arts, and then continued his education at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, from which he earned his bachelor’s with a concentration in restaurant operations. Michael spends his free time gardening and cooking with his family and friends.

Thomas is an accountant with Tara Paige Group. Thomas comes to TaraPaige Group from One Lucky Duck – where he managed the flow of sales and inventory across the different storefront and e-commerce sectors of the company. He also devised and implemented a new inter-company loan-based accounting system better suited for generating up to date income statements and improving cash flow.  His passion for finance started began in retail banking as a bank teller and managing the books for healthcare industry and art galleries.

A dual citizen of the U.K and Australia, and a permanent resident of the U.S., Thomas earned his philosophy degree in Kalamazoo College and his Masters at the University of Essex, England. He is currently enrolled at Louisiana State University where he is completing credits in financial and managerial accounting.
